Workers’ Compensation Antitrust Litigation
In defending a company disputing its insurance premium charges, Scott learned that national insurance carriers were, by agreement, overcharging their largest business customers for their workers’ compensation insurance in violation of Texas anti-trust laws. He filed, and the court appointed him to lead counsel in class actions that resulted in over $195 million in reimbursements of excess charges to the businesses (net of attorneys’ fees and cost), including his client, the Houston Oilers football team.
