This suit resulted in a settlement of $9.975 million. The litigation involved two separate district court cases and an appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Scott and his co-counsel settled these cases as a class action and the clients are to receive $7.48 million. The expenses were paid out of the fees paid to the attorneys. In this case, the attorneys' fees and expenses were $2.495 million.
